Our history
The story of Sotiriou Winery begins in 1996 in the village of Lesini,in Mesolongi,Aetolia-Acarnania.
Dimitris and Efrosyni, a young couple at the time, decided to professionally engage with the world of wine. Born and raised in Lesini, they carried memories of their childhood, mixed with the aromas and flavors of the distinctive
local wines. Their love for the wine tradition and their desire to preserve it and ensure its continuity was the driving force for a dynamic start.
Since then, on the 110 acres of their privately owned vineyards in Paracheloitida, specifically in Oiniades, an area renowned since ancient times for its wonderful wines, local traditional varieties of white and red wine such as Malagousia, Avgoustolidi, Mavrodaphne, and others are produced and bottled. The primary variety of the vineyard is Malagousia, which is closely linked to the place both emotionally and historically, as this particular variety originates from the villages of Oiniades.
Today, the winery team has expanded with new members, including agronomist-viticulturist Vasilis Sotiriou and oenologist-viticulturist Panagiotis Sotiriou. The winery is housed in new, modern facilities, equipped with the latest technology machinery and spaces with suitable conditions for the aging and storage of wine. At the same time, the premises host wine tastings, tours, and various events centered around wine.
